Amaravati, July 21, 2022 (DNS Online ): Ms. Droupadi Murmu elected 15th President of India. Her election was successfully ended with grand fervour celebrations by BJP at the National Capital on Thursday. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India congratulated Murmu, after the cofirmation of her success. She secures 64% of votes against Yashwant Sinha’s 36%.

The counting of votes is taking place in Room No 63 in Parliament House and the result will be declared immediately after the counting. Murmu became the first tribal woman and the second woman to hold the position. She is also the first President to be born after independence and is the youngest to occupy the top post. Prime Minister Narendra Modi along

with party president JP Nadda visited Murmu's residence in Delhi to congratulate the leader. 
On July 18, all elected MLAs and MPs across the country had voted for Ram Nath Kovind's successor. Hailing from Mayurganj district of Odisha, she served as Governor of Jharkhand, Minister in Odisha.
