Amaravati, April 9, 2023 (DNS Online): The Confederation of Newspaper and News Agency Employees Organization annual general meeting will be held on 21 and 22 nd of this month at Chandigarh, according to Chaladi Purnachandra Rao, national Sr Vice President of All India Newspaper Employees Federation (AINEF )informed in a press note here today.
He said the confederation of Newspaper and News Agency Employees Organizations (confederation of six major federations of media) has been at the forefront of battles for rights and concerns of journalists and non-journalists. It has played an active role in constituting the wage boards for working Journalists and non-journalists and has represented their interests at various forums including the Lok-Sabha

Committee for Labour for welfare of employees working in media industry.
Purnachandra Rao further stated that to chalk out the strategy to maintain the special status of Working Journalists Act for the newspaper industry.
The Agenda is to study the present state of media and recommend policy initiatives to the Government and other stakeholders to make it more responsive towards the society by maintaining the core values of freedom of speech and expression as enshrined in our constitution.
