Amaravati, Oct 4, 2021 (DNS Online) : A couple from Sattanapalli mandal in Guntur district had an attempt to suicide at the state high court on Monday. The Security crew obstructed them and took them to custody. Mr. Chilikoti Devendra Rao and his wife Bhanushree of Dhulipalla village tried to commit suicide by pouring diesel on the dung at the high court due to harrassment by local people in a dispute over the land of their house. SPF personnel immediately noticed and snatched the diesel bottle in the couple's hand. The two were taken into custody by the police and shifted to Tulluru station.

The victim Devendra said that they have been living in the place where they have been since 2003. In 2017, when they tried to

force the construction of a bus shelter, they approached the High Court. Even though the High Court ruled in their favor, some of the elders in the village complained that they were constantly harassed. Devendra Rao said that he came here to commit suicide at the high court , police under investigation.
