*Visakhapatnam, April 06 , 2022 (DNS Online ):* The Visakhapatnam Railway Division has earned Rs 7902.10 crores revenue in 2021-22 financial year announced Mr. Anup Satpathy, its Divisional Railway Manager. Addressing the media here on Wednesday, he revealed the detailed income achieved by the division in all sources. This achievement is 8.74% more than last financial year.

The Best and highest ever loading of 66.88 million tons in 2021-22 financial year achieved where as it has transported 61.17 million tons in last financial year, that posted 9.33% growth.

The Division has ferried 12.41 million passengers in this financial year that fetched Rs 415.27 crores which is 198% more than the

last financial year earnings that pegged Rs 139.30 crores.

Best ever interchange of 160 trains per day in FY 2021-22, 15.9% higher than 138 trains per day in last FY.

With focus to check ticketless travel, Waltair division conducted intensive ticket checking drives in the FY2021-22 that resulted in tracing out 2,60,850 cases of ticket less travel, un-booked luggage, irregular tickets etc leading to realization of Rs 16.02 crores as fare and penalty. This is the highest ever performance by any Division in ECoR.

Highest scrap sale of 113.42 Cr achieved in WAT division and it is the highest among all divisions in Indian Railways for the year 2021-22 surpassing the previous best of 101.68

Infrastructure:

Doubling of 18 route kilometers between Gidam-Dabpal and Chatriput-Jeypore commissioned

5 numbers of Level Crossings eliminated, 9 RUBs were constructed, rehabilitation of 12 bridges was completed, 8 Level crossing gates were upgraded and track renewal of 170 kms was achieved in the division

Amenities: :

The first oxygen loaded roll on roll off (Ro-RO) oxygen express by Waltair division carrying 7 tankers 105 metric tons of liquid medical oxygen left Visakhapatnam on 22nd April 2021

Additional Vistadome coaches with upgraded LHB rake in Visakhapatnam_- Kirandul -Visakhapatnam train was flagged off on 22nd November 2021 by Hon’ble Vice President of

India

Twin escalators on Platform No.8 at Visakhapatnam station commissioned

Prepaid AC waiting lounge provided at Vizianagaram Railway station, first of its kind in East Coast Railway, equipped with world class amenities like comfortable couch cushion sofas, Television Sets for entertainment, Wi-fi facility, separate rest rooms for gents and ladies, baby feeding room etc.

Two HVLS fans have been provided on PF no 8 and inaugurated

Waltair Division has started issuing linen in trains from 03.04.2022 in phased manner, beginning with Visakhapatnam bound train No. 22847/22848 Visakhapatnam- Lokmanya Tilak Terminus- Visakhapatnam (Via Raipur) weekly train.

division bagged 6 efficiency Shields (coaching depot, finance, personal, stores, signal &Telecom and sports) during the 66th Railway week celebrations in Bhubaneswar and now we hope more in this FY.

Innovations in NFR :

Waltair Division has come up with another innovative concept of passenger amenity i.e. e-cars and e-bikes on rent at Visakhapatnam Railway station

Waltair division has achieved one more mile stone by branding two more rakes of prestigious AP EXPRESS (20805/06) by NMDC that gives revenue to the tune of Rs 1 crore for year for two rakes.

Visakhapatnam is the first station in the East Coast Railway to implement the "One Station One Product" concept. The main objective of the concept is to make each railway

station a promotional hub and showcase destination for a local product, thereby giving a major boost to local industries. Under this concept Etikoppaka Lacquer & Wooden Toys stalls provided on PF No.1 &8.

Along with various innovative passenger amenity measures, WAT Divn has kept the focus on trimming down the maintenance & housekeeping cost and on generating revenue through NFR too. Waltair division awarded the contract for Wagon Cleaning at Rake examination points on an earning mode first of it’s kind in ECoR. This initiative will fetch a non-fare revenue of approximately Rs 6 crores to the Division over a period of 3 years ( approx. Rs. 2 Cr per annum) as license fee.

Sports:

ECoR Sports Association Waltair recently hosted the BCCI under

19 women's cricket tournament in a Bio-bubble setup at Waltair cricket ground by following all the covid-19 guidelines

All India level Volleyball , RPF Boxing , Badminton and various State level events were conducted

East Coast Railway Sports Association, Waltair has organised the Inter Departmental Sports Mela Torch Run and Cyclothon on 03.04.2022 for 10Kms. The month long departments

Staff Welfare

With respect to Railway employees more than 15000 APARs have been generated by the on-line mode through HRMS

The retirement functions started again after gap of Two years due to pandemic

Paid ticket facility has been introduced at DRM Office Reservation Counter for the benefit of

staff using PTOs.

An In House HEMODIALYSIS UNIT for cancer patients was commissioned at Divisional Railway Hospital.

Security:

Security department has secured 52 - boys and 47 - girls 204 numbers of luggages have also been retrieved
